Meet The Designer

The designer of Healing Silks, Diana Wesley, is an Energy Psychology Practitioner, who was fascinated by the scientific studies proving the human body's reaction to certain types of healing fractals. The harmonic value of a fractal to carry or create a soothing feeling depends on the numeric values placed in the formulas. All fractals are not healing fractals. 

Fractal designs, generated from strict geometric laws, produce patterns of beauty that reduced human stress to levels that have in fact has been measured. Brain activity, oxygen levels, muscle tension, breathing, blood pressure all show beneficial changes while a person is exposed to healing fractals. The human brain seems to be hard-wired to respond positively to the perfection of these designs, which many have called "sacred geometry” or “divine geometry."

Diana's research into these scientific findings led her to conceive of a way to use these fractal patterns pro-actively as agents of healing, in particular for children affected by trauma, learning disorders, ADD and ADHD. She created an interactive computer program that generates specific healing modalities with the use of fractals. The search for a foundation to provide the program free to children's hospitals is one of her many pursuits to contribute to children and adults in healing crisis.

With a background in manufacturing and product development, it occurred to Abby Mobasher, Diana’s partner in their product development / production company ABDAIA, Inc.; that these stunning designs could be transferred to silk, and their healing energy could be worn, thus not restricting one to a computer monitor. The patterns would be shared by anyone coming in contact with the “wearer,” thus spreading the energy more abundantly.

So, in September 2006, with the help of friends who shared their vision, they raised the capital (through prepaid orders) necessary to create the first few healing scarves and shawls. Response was extremely positive. The combination of the high quality silk's inherent tactile appeal and the balance and relaxation created by the designs was an overnight success, thus posing an immediate challenge to find the creative energy to make more. What followed was familiar to any successful entrepreneur: long nights and early mornings, creating and refining and experimenting and re-creating.

By the time Healing Silks formed as a corporation in May 2007, they had found that customers were reporting positive results in their life. Soon, doctors were recommending them to patients. Respected author, Joe Vitale was talking about their products. Actress, Shirley MacLaine endorsed the Healing Silks. Orders were coming in, not yet a flood, but no longer at a trickle.  With new-inspired designs, more testimonials, more orders, and new distribution networks aligning with us, the company continues in inspired, calculated expansion.

Healing Silks is still an emergent company.  The vision that Diana and Abby have for the future is immense. Destined to become a small giant, being run by family members and friends, the company is based in integrity, love and a desire to spread the healing energy contained in the Healing Silks to the world.

With the team of amazing people, they are steadily building a company on sound business practices of reliability, communication, insistence upon highest quality in all dealings and products, strong customer service and gratitude, with a clear understanding of the interdependence amongst all the parts, from production to final destination in the hands of a fully-satisfied wearer. The latest creation of Healing Silks, the Healing in Pink (HIP) line, focuses on Love, Hope and Belief for anyone in a healing crisis such as cancer or surgery, and especially those with breast cancer. The HIP line consists of bookmarks, intention energizers, prayer shawls, and gratitude scarves.

Healing Silks is contributing 5% of each direct retail purchase in the Healing in Pink line to one of our non-profit cancer care partners. The company is dedicated to continuing to build various aspects of charitable giving into the fabric of the company and continues to open new avenues in the community.
